Truth Experts To Debate 9/11 On Russian TV

Thierry Meyssan reports from Moscow that he and other leading international 9/11 truth experts have completed taping a television debate which will be telecast on the first national program of Russian state television this coming Friday, September 12. This no-holds barred, free-wheeling debate, featuring strongly divergent opinions about what really happened on and about September 11, 2001, will be shown in conjunction with the documentary film Zero, produced and directed by Giulietto Chiesa and Franco Fracassi of Telemaco Productions in Rome. Russians are thus about to receive an unprecedented evening of 9/11 truth.

The telecast will go out in the middle of prime time. Among the participants, General Leonid Ivashov was the commander of the Russian armed forces on September 11, 2001, and has been a leading critic of the US official version. A leading strategic thinker for his country, Ivashov is currently a fellow of the Strategic Culture Foundation in Moscow. Giulietto Chiesa is a member of the European Parliament in Brussels, representing the region around Asti in northwest Italy. Chiesa has been the leading spokesman for 9/11 truth issues in the European Parliament, and has been the prime mover behind the documentary film Zero, as well as the collection of essays by the same name which has also attracted much attention in Italy since being published in the late summer of 2007. Thierry Meyssan, the founder and leader of the Voltaire Network in Paris, was one of the first critics of the US official story about 9/11. He is the author of several books, including 9/11: The Big Lie, and Pentagate. He also organized the Axis for Peace conference in Brussels in November 2005.

Among almost a dozen Russian participants in the debate that will be televised Friday evening in Moscow, one of the most compelling speakers was a Russian cosmonaut who observed the 9/11 events from his post on the International Space Station in earth orbit. This cosmonaut recounts in the telecast that, as he watched the immense plume of smoke spread from New York out over the Atlantic, he took a large number of photos and films which were sent automatically to both Houston and Moscow. “We have been studying these images very, very, carefully,” commented the cosmonaut pointedly, “and we have seen some highly interesting things.”

The host for the debate stressed that this landmark telecast did not imply that the Kremlin administration of President Medvedev and Prime Minister Putin was officially espousing any particular point of view concerning 9/11, but rather reflected a commitment to free and open debate. Nevertheless, observers in the Russian capital sense a far-reaching change of mood by the Russian government in the wake of the August 7-8 genocidal attack on South Ossetia by the Georgian dictator and US satellite Saakashvili. The Russians, according to this view, are through with doing favors for the US, especially in regard to Washington’s official myths about 9/11 and the war on terror, and this telecast will deliver that message in a clear and unmistakable way.

Concerning the comments by the Russian cosmonauts, as it happens, I was privy to this information back in January of 2005 and wrote about it on my website. See LINK where the remarks are as follows:

This series of comments was begun in September of 2002 when many readers of our website deluged us with emails asking what we thought about the evidence that a Boeing 757 did NOT hit the Pentagon. Up to that moment in time, there was no question in our minds that the events of 9-11 happened exactly as described by the media and the Bush Administration. Of course, we had certain ideas as to WHO was behind those events, but the important point is that we did not question the “facts on the ground” of the event.

Certainly, because this was our “belief,” we began to search for data with something of a bias. I was quite certain that the “no-Boeing” theory was designed to set up people who were asking “whodunnit” so that when the “proof of the Boeing” hitting the Pentagon was finally unveiled, everyone who suspected an “inside job” would look completely stupid and all such conspiracy theories would be thoroughly squashed thereby. In fact, I expected such a revelation daily and began to wonder what was really going on when it never came. Could it be possible that there was NO proof that a Boeing hit the Pentagon?

I also did not consider it within the realm of possibility that such a “switch” could have been perpetrated upon the American public, much less the media. Surely no criminal element within our own government would be crazy enough to launch a Drone plane packing a missile and try to pass it off as a Boeing and expect to get away with it! What a lunatic idea!

And so, it was with such ideas in mind that I began to research the issue. I has now been over two and a half years, and still no proof of a Boeing hitting the Pentagon has been dramatically unveiled. What is more, we recently (Jan. 2005) received information that the REASON for the initial claims that there was NO Boeing [Thierry Meyssan]was due to the fact that satellite images of what really DID hit the Pentagon were taken by satellites belonging to other governments. Up to this point in time, these images have been withheld mainly because “mutual blackmail” at the highest levels of power is the norm. But what we have learned is that these images have been circulated among certain foreign intell groups with, shall we say, planned leaks. After learning of these images from a very trustworthy source who, for obvious reasons, cannot be named, I realized that the stakes of the game are a lot higher than anyone imagines. [...]

Remember what I wrote at the beginning, that we recently received information that satellite photos of what really hit the Pentagon DO exist in the hands of other governments?

Well, the story is that whatever hit the Pentagon was launched from a ship offshore, and it wasn’t a missile. Go again and look at the nice images of the “Universal Pilot Replacement Program” to see the clever launching ramps they have for these handy planes. Have a good look at the demonstrated maneuverability and compare it to the descriptions of the flight path of that amazing mythical Flight 77.

In fact, it is altogether likely that the Universal Pilot Replacement Program was used on all the hijacked planes. It was, after all, manufactured by Boeing - one of the biggies of the Military Industrial Complex - and could easily have been installed during “routine maintenance.” It would also have been quite easy to install some poison gas to be released via the onboard ventilation system that would kill everyone on the plane at the point that the UPR took over. The issue of why Flight 93 had to be shot down is easily explained by a possible glitch in the release of the gas. If it didn’t work as it was supposed to, or someone noticed and managed to get an oxygen mask on in time, it would certainly explain why the plane had to be shot down.

The same information was included in our (co-author, Joe Quinn) book 9-11 The Ultimate Truth”.

I think I can now reveal my source: A close associate of Thierry Meyssan who told us in strictest confidence that Meyssan was shown the images and he was given the assignment of writing his book exposing the truth with the proviso that he had to make the case WITHOUT recourse to mentioning the photographs. It wasn’t really a hard case to make though certainly, photos would have helped. But now, of course, it will be said that any such photos are “faked.” And with the Zio-con control of the media in the US, don’t expect anything to change.

I should also mention that Meyssan and Co had sent their representative to meet with several members of the sott.net team with a view toward working together on a number of projects to expose the truth. That was the context in which the revelation was made. However, they had a requirement: that said editors disassociate themselves entirely from me and my “esoteric work.” On that topic, read Richard Dolan’s new article. The sott.net editors declined the offer, needless to say. They weren’t for sale.
